There are 35 hospital-based pediatricians who share responsibility for supervision on patient care, teaching and research; 70 board-certified voluntary pediatrics.
The department is responsible for a 38-bed inpatient facility that includes a pediatric intensive care unit; a special care unit where children may be isolated; an adolescent unit, a newborn service that has two general nurseries, a premature nursery and a neonatal intensive care unit; the pediatric services of the six Brookdale Family Care Centers; a comprehensive child care program; the Bruner Development Disabilities Center; and a range of special medical rehabilitation programs for children.
