The Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology has provided comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care and education to children with blood disorders and cancer for over 35 years and is staffed by Board-Certified physicians. The spectrum of diseases treated include anemias- acquired and congenital, hemoglobinopathies, bleeding disorders, malignancies-leukemia, lymphoma-Hodgkins and non-Hodgkins, Wilms tumor, brain tumors, neuroblastoma as well as rare tumors.
The Division has a Sickle Cell Comprehensive Program which is a cornerstone of the department and is home to more than 300 children and young adults. It is a nationally recognized program which participates in NIH research and projects and has served as a model for other centers. Patients in the program are actively involved in support groups, camps and family events such as holiday parties, summer camps and Family Fun retreats. All patients have 24-hour access to our Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist.
Our dedicated staff assists in parent and patient education and long-term care. We help parents with issues such as coping with a chronic or severe illness, obtaining medical insurance coverage and other financial support, transportation assistance.
Office Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Physicians are available by beeper 24 hours a day to answer questions and/or give advice.
