Pediatric Cardiology

The Division of Pediatric Cardiology provides a full-range of clinical services for infants, children and adolescents with cardiac disorders.  A Pediatric Cardiology “non-invasive” laboratory is available on a 24-hour basis for the work-up of these infants with heart disease as well as the only tilt test in Brooklyn.  Diagnostic techniques such as EKG, echocardiography, pediatric stress tests, tilt tests and holter monitoring are available.  In addition to these in-patient services, the Division of Pediatric Cardiology also has a large out-patient component.

The Bureau of Handicapped Children of the New York City Department of Health designated Brookdale for its Brooklyn “regional” Children’s Cardiac Consultation Center.  More than 1,000 new referrals are seen annually in this program alone and are added to the large number of pediatric cardiology patients seen in the other regularly scheduled Pediatric Cardiology Clinics.  To fight the obesity epidemic in children, they have established a community based partnership, the Live Light Live Right program.
