Neurosurgery

The Division of Neurosurgery is staffed by Board-Certified surgeons and a team of highly skilled and trained nurses.  Brookdale's Division of Neurosurgery provides diagnosis and treatment for the entire spectrum of neurosurgical conditions.
 
Surgical procedures for the brain include but are not limited to, brain tumors (astrocytomas, meningiomas, ependymas) , head trauma, intracerebral hemorrhage, vascular malformations, functional disorders such as trigeminal neuralgia (microvascular decompression), shunting procedures for hydrocephalus and normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) and, microvascular and complex base of the skull surgeries.
 
A wide range of spine surgery is performed at Brookdale from lumbar microdiscectomies to complex decompressions, trauma, reconstructions for sever degenerative disease, neoplastic invasion or traumatic fractures, congenital anomalies, sciatica, low back and neck pain.
 
Our highly skilled surgeons also perform surgical procedures for the treatment of peripheral nerve disorders such as carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar nerve decompressions at the elbow and wrist. They also perform pain management procedures such as implantation of spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal catheters with programmable pumps.
 
All of the most modern equipment is available for micro neurosurgery, laser surgery and stereotactic procedures.
